Novel Medical Packaging System

Aseptic Non-Touch Technique (ANTT) is the internationally accepted gold standard for procedural infection control.

ANTT applies across all clinical procedures. Our focus is Standard ANTT for nonsurgical medical procedures, both inside and outside the hospital environment.

The Problem
Conventional packaging is for storage only. It must be fully removed for a medical device to be used.

When a device is entirely exposed:

1. achieving ANTT is a complex process and is dependent on hospital infrastructure, clinically trained users, planning and preparation, auxiliary equipment, and resource availability;
2.  in many real-world care scenarios, achieving ANTT is difficult or impossible; and
3. the entire device is at risk of touch contamination, airborne exposure, droplet exposure, environmental debris, and handling error.

The Solution
Our novel technology inserts an impervious physical barrier that remains around the device during the procedure, with integrated features that allow the device to be used from within the barrier system without hindering the user.

Sections are removable to expose device key parts at the critical moment of use, and the system can be removed entirely if needed.

The technology extends device protection into the procedure, integrating gold-standard ANTT principles directly into the packaging itself. This enables ANTT to be achieved independently of environmental factors and user variability.

Our barrier system empowers anyone, in any care setting, to achieve ANTT when using a single-use medical device.

The Opportunity
This technology addresses a large, meaningful, and unmet need at the intersection of infection control, medical devices, and medical packaging across multiple single-use device categories and significant end markets.
